Work Group on Consumer Access Policies for Networked Personal Health Information

Scope and Charge

The Connecting for Health Work Group on Consumer Access Policies for Networked Personal Health Information seeks to make policy recommendations to facilitate individual consumers’ ability to make secure electronic connections with many sources of their health data and services. Its charge is to help identify policies (such as privacy, consent, secondary use of data, etc.) that support trust in sharing personal health information with individual consumers across a network. Key components of the mission include articulating appropriate privacy protections and enabling individuals to draw data into applications of their own choosing.
